Story

In 2011 Claire & I lost our Daughter Lauren to Mitochondrial Disease, she was just 11 months old.

Firstly, 'Team Kiwi' will be running the Vitality London 10000 2017, then Matt will be running the 2018 London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise much needed money for The Lily Foundation, who work tirelessly to enable research into Mitochondrial disease and to support families of those affected.

2017 is particularly special, as it marks Ten years since the Lily Foundation was set-up by Liz, Dave and their family, in memory of a special girl who's story started it all. Through their hard work and determination, Lily's story has helped to secure research, innovation and genetic advancements,  as well as giving families like ours support and love through the most difficult of times.

The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting. Please stand with us and fight Mitochondrial Disease and fight for hope.
