Story
Maisie Durant was a beautiful, bubbly young woman with a fiercely bright future ahead. Her nut allergy was well-controlled by tablets; however, after eating a 'health bar' containing peanuts, she went into anaphylactic shock and passed away. Maisie was only 21 years old. We lost a daughter, sister and friend on 19 January 2015.
Maisie's father, Jon, has arranged for roughly 55 members of Maisie's family and friends to travel to Magaluf, where Maisie worked in her summers, and walk the island's coastline in her memory. We will use #MilesForMaisie to keep you up to date on social media and tell the story before, during and after the event.
In the longer term, #RememberMaisie will also be used for the overall effort behind The Anaphylaxis Campaign's main campaign page, collecting a variety of fundraising stories that will hopefully develop for years to come. Please donate to this page or either of the following - it all goes to the same ring-fenced fund - to help other young people at risk from anaphylaxis.
