Homelessness is an issue that’s on the rise; not only are we as a country facing large scale job losses, but sadly throughout lockdown there’s been a dramatic increase in domestic violence cases – both of which frequently lead to homelessness. 

Now that we’re getting back into the swing of the new normal, it feels right to start thinking about those less fortunate than ourselves and that's where Help The Homeless Leicester comes in. 

As well as supporting the homeless with many charitable efforts and activities, Help The Homeless Leicester also buy and supply kitchen starter packs for people they’ve successfully accommodated. A kitchen starter pack makes a huge difference to recently housed people, by giving them
everything they need to prepare comforting, home cooked food; taking their accommodation from a house to a home, and how important is that distinction?

Our Goal

Over the month of October we are hoping to raise £450 which will buy ten of these kitchen starter packs. Help the Homeless Leicester will customise the starter packs to suit individual people, which means that ten kitchen starter packs will provide for around 15 recently housed people. So our fundraising will directly support 15 people – how great is that?
