My 1-year wedding anniversary falls on the 8th December this year and we hadn’t decided what to do yet. I have followed Camilla’s Thurlow’s work for a few years and then a video popped up earlier on her Instagram for a way to help an important cause and the date falls exactly on our anniversary. Instead of sitting and feeling bad for those in need, I felt like I wanted to take some action. I can’t even imagine what it is like to be scared of losing your life, body part, family member etc on a daily, constant basis. I personally have never run 10k before (2k Max about a year ago) and will literally have 3 weeks to train but I’m up for the challenge!

A bit about the charity from their website...

When conflict ends in war-torn countries, land is all too often littered with landmines and other dangerous explosives. Families live in fear and poverty. They can’t plant crops or graze cattle and day-to-day activities like getting to school and fetching water are fraught with risk. 

Any money raised will help HALO TRUST to recruit and train local men and women to clear landmines in their own communities. With their earnings, they can rebuild their lives.
