On the 22nd July 2012 I am taking part in the UK Ironman triathlon at Bolton to raise money for Ashgate Hospice and the M S Society. 

The event starts with a 2.4 mile swim in a lake then a 112 mile cycle ride and finally a 26.2 mile marathon to finish, all within 16 hours. But just to make things more difficult I am doing the marathon run at the end dressed as Scooby Doo!

Ashgate Hospice is the only place in North Derbyshire which cares for terminally ill people. They need to raise £2.4 million every year to provide all there services. My mother in law passed away in Ashgate 16 years ago so I have first hand experience of the quality of care they provide.
