GoCardless confirmed as headline sponsor for JustGiving Awards 2024 as sponsorship opportunities expand for the first time

15 February 2024

With plans in full swing for the annual JustGiving Awards this September, the UK’s leading fundraising platform is excited to announce that they will be carrying forward their official headline sponsorship with bank payment company, GoCardless.

This will be its second time sponsoring the GoCardless JustGiving Awards following its hugely successful partnership with JustGiving in 2023 which brought in nearly 20,000 votes resulting in 12 incredible finalists.

The payment company is an apt sponsor for JustGiving, given its focus to make it as easy as possible for charities and fundraisers to collect and manage donations. Earlier this year, GoCardless was also announced as the exclusive open banking provider for JustGiving, enabling fundraisers to collect instant, one-off donations as well as recurring contributions through Direct Debit.

Pat Phelan, MD of UK & Ireland and Chief Customer Officer at GoCardless said: “We’re continuously in awe of the amazing fundraisers in the UK, from their creativity to their dedication to the extremely moving reasons why they support their causes of choice. We couldn’t be more proud to shine a light on these unsung heroes by renewing our sponsorship of the GoCardless JustGiving Awards, and to play our part in ensuring that donations are easy to make and manage.”

Some of the biggest fundraisers and celebrities in the country will be brought together under one roof at London’s iconic Roundhouse on Wednesday 18th September 2024 for the awards.

Last year, attendees included Bill Bailey, Jamie Laing, Angela Griffiths, Faye Winter, Josh Patterson and Matt Edmondson.

This year, due to high demand, JustGiving is expanding its sponsorship offering to give more like-minded brands an opportunity to be involved with the awards. For the first time, brands will be able to partner with JustGiving on one of eight award categories as a means of making the awards even more spectacular.

The prestigious and high-profile awareness and celebratory campaign for the awards runs from April through to December, offering a unique opportunity for organisations to position themselves as part of the social giving space by recognising and supporting some of the country’s most unsung heroes.

Pascale Harvie, President and General Manager of JustGiving, said: “We’re delighted to announce GoCardless as our headline sponsor for the second year running and very much look forward to working with them again.

“This year, we’re offering eight organisations the opportunity to join us in celebrating and formally recognising eight wonderful fundraisers, who have quite literally gone above and beyond for good causes, at what is without a doubt, the most inspiring event of the year.”

This year’s JustGiving Award categories are:

  • Young Fundraiser of the Year
  • Teen Fundraiser of the Year
  • Creative Fundraiser of the Year
  • Celebrity Fundraiser of the Year
  • Endurance Fundraiser of the Year
  • Fundraising Team of the Year
