Hi, I am asking for your help. I will shortly be running and most likely to be walking at times an event named 'The Lap' to raise funds for Cartmel Primary School's school grounds project. The Lap is a 47 mile Ultra Marathon around Lake Windermere. Its going to be very tough but it will be worth it to support this project. Despite having done lots of fell walking through my life, I have never done anything on this scale and the only running event I have done in my adult years was an 8 mile trail race so this is a real challenge for me.

I would be very grateful if you will sponsor me, it will help me get to the finish when I really want to give up!

I have been out training with three other parents from the school community in all weathers and had some injuries which haulted my training, but now we feel the journey is near its conclusion. And we are ready to take on The Lap!.

The current playground at Cartmel CofE Primary School is very plain and a dull expanse of tarmac with very little to inspire play or learning.

The school would like to transform the blank canvas into a vibrant space to ignite curiosity, inspire learning, and promote green initiatives. Our goal is to help the school secure funds so that the outdoor areas can be reimagined with more green spaces for learning and play are created. At the heart of the project is a strong emphasis on the environment, sustainability, and the well-being of our children.
