We are running 'The Lap' to raise funds for Cartmel Primary School's school grounds project. The Lap is 47 mile Ultra Marathon around Windermere. Its going to be very tough but it will be worth it to support this project.

Our team is Helen Bennett (parent), Claire Welburn (parent), Tom Holman (Governor) and Emma Benson (Alumni). We are mainly new to Ultra running, with 3 of us having never run over 26 miles before - those extra 21 miles are going to be interesting....

We have done everything we can to train to get round for the last 12 months with many hurdles in our way - injuries, covid and dog bites!

We would be very grateful if you will sponsor us, your support will really help us get to the finish when we really want to give up! There is a time limit of 24 hours.

The current playground at Cartmel CofE Primary School is very plain and dull expanse of tarmac with very little to inspire play or learning.

The school wants to transform our school grounds into vibrant spaces that ignite curiosity, inspire learning, and promote green initiatives. Our goal is to help the school secure funds so that the outdoor areas can be reimagined with more green spaces for learning and play are created. At the heart of the project is a strong emphasis on the environment, sustainability, and the well-being of our children.
