Campaign by Guide Dogs (RCN Eng. & Wales 209617, Scot. SC038979, & IoM 1334)
Our guide dogs give people with sight loss the confidence to get out and about safely, providing life-changing practical support every day. Just £8 can support a working guide dog partnership for a day.

Story

in 2012, I was partnered with my first remarkable guidedog, Laura. A beautiful, caring and lovely girl who changed my life forever. She gave me back the freedom and confidence I thought I’d never get back, and enriched my life in so many ways. We had an extraordinary partnership. In 2021 at the age of 11, she retired after 9 years of loyal service, and is now living out a well deserved retirement with a lovely family in the Dorset countryside.

In 2023, Laura and I starred in an ITV Guidedogs documentary with British actor Martin Clunes, who adopted my lovely girl. A Dog Called Laura aired in October last year and is still available on ITVX. You can find it by following the link:

The programme followed the story of Laura being re-homed on her retirement, with Martin Clunes and family. And me being matched with my new guide dog Kath. Another little superstar!

GuideDogs is a charity very close to my heart, and I have set up this page as a tribute to Laura, Kath and their fellow little life changers and to give back to the charity by naming a puppy in honour of Laura. We hope you can join us as we fundraise to create another little life changer for someone living with sight loss. Thank you for your support! With much love, Jaina, Kath and Laura x
