Just over eighteen months ago, my son, Jacob, was referred to Derian house after he received a life limiting diagnosis due to a lung condition. In what has been a very difficult time for us all as a family, learning to come to terms with this news that no parent ever wants to receive about their child. Derian house has been an amazing support to us all. From offering facilities that Jacob can access, he loves the hydrothapthy pool, to the counselling they offer to us as a family, the various support groups we can access, respite care, the lists goes on and on.

With over 400 hundred families that they currently support, this doesn't come cheap. Derian needs to raise £6 million each year to support all the children and families in the unfortunate position that we are in.

Every little helps, and that is why I have signed up to take on the Great North run half marathon in September.
