The summer sun can be dangerous, even deadly, for our vulnerable neighbors. That's why, when temperatures top 100 degrees, Phoenix Rescue Mission declares a Code:Red on the streets.

The numbers are staggering. In 2020, extreme heat killed more than 300 of our neighbors in Maricopa County - most of them homeless. The danger disproportionately targets our most vulnerable populations: seniors, those with disabilities, and homeless people.
