This October, I’ll be taking on the Amsterdam Marathon and raising money for NOMAN is an Island, a charity working towards a world without HPV-related cancers.

HPV is one of the most common viral infections worldwide and is responsible for almost all cases of cervical cancer, as well as several other cancers affecting both women and men. Yet we have something incredibly powerful to prevent them: vaccination.

As a medical student with a particular interest in global health, this is a cause that means a huge amount to me. So, I’ll be running 42.2 km around Amsterdam to help support their work and hopefully contribute, in a small way, towards a future where preventable HPV-related cancers really are prevented.

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to me — and will make all those training miles feel a little more worthwhile!
