KMPT's Improvement Team is leading the charge for KMPT Charity by taking on the Moveit4minds: 56 Challenge.
Together, we're committed to raising funds for KMPT Charity and awareness for the 56,000 patients we support in the community and on our wards.
My goal? 56,000 steps per week for 6 months!
My team and I want to set the standard and lead the way as a directorate, showing our commitment not only to the charity but to the cause of mental health support.
Our charity supports the amazing work that KMPT's doctors, nurses and healthcare professions deliver to patients across Kent and Medway in their time of need.
The charity funds wellbeing initiatives, equipment for services and wards, and innovative projects that help transform patients experience and lives.

About me:
I have had anxiety, depression and OCD for most of my life. 🧠 Since having my first baby, my physical health has gone downhill, which has negatively impacted my mental health. I feel depressed and anxious more than ever.
For the last two years, I have neglected myself and my overall health has ultimately paid the price! I am experiencing flare-ups from chronic conditions and I am no longer motivated to leave the house or to do the activities I once enjoyed. Overall, I just don’t recognise myself. I want to give my daughter the happy and healthy mother she deserves. So, something needs to change and fast!
I struggle staying accountable with these sorts of things, so I thought what better way to do it than in front of all my colleagues, friends and family! 👀
For the next 6 months I’ll be aiming to walk 56,000 steps per week, which equates to approximately 8,000 steps/day. 🚶🏽♂️ I will be walking not only for myself, but for my colleagues and all those who are experiencing or have experienced mental health challenges, whether directly or indirectly. All while raising funds for our charity. Any donation is welcomed and appreciated. Thank you.
Here’s to better health and wellbeing! 💚
