Story
On Sunday 12th May, Katie, Benji, Nic and James will be taking part in the Hatch End Triathlon to raise money for the Nepal Education Foundation.
We have been in training for a challenge of swimming, cycling and running!
Katie and James will be doing 17 lengths (James needs to learn to swim), a 3km run (Katie needs to learn to run) and a 17km bike ride.
Benji (9) will be doing 7 lengths, a 1.2km run and a 2km bike ride
Nic (7) will be doing 3 lengths, a 1km run and a 1km bike ride
The Nepal Education Foundation has been working with six remote Himalayan primary schools for over 20 years.
Katie, Benji and James had the amazing opportunity in the Easter holidays to visit the schools we support (James' 40th birthday present!).
We are now aiming to raise £1500 as a team to fund a clean drinking water project for Mendo School, where the children currently have to walk almost a kilometre to fill their water bottles and wash their hands.
We are also raising money to support basic facilities for six schools for the next two years - these include pencils, exercise books, art materials, health products (soap, toothbrushes, etc) and science facilities.
To supply one child with all these materials costs £20 per year. Thank you for your support!
