Story
This September, I will be taking on my biggest challenge to date so far - running 250km over 5 days to raise money for bigmoose charity.
The event? A unique 250km ultra running event. Not a race, but an event with a greater purpose: runners run for themselves, and for something much bigger than themselves too - a shared goal not only to complete this mammoth distance together, but also to raise crucial funds for mental health charity, bigmoose.
Bigmoose has a very special place in my heart and it’s my time to give back to them. As many of you know, I am a mental health nurse and have dedicated a lot of my life to helping those in mental health crisis. I am passionate about excellent mental health care, and that is exactly what bigmoose offers. No waiting lists and no criteria, bigmoose provides solution focussed therapy to all that are in need, and have subsequently changed and saved so many lives.
On top of that, last year bigmoose helped to save me. I am a person who has directly benefitted from their support. I have suffered with my mental health on and off since my teenage years, and last year I suffered a breakdown. They helped me to regain strength and power when I felt so lost and alone. When my brother later in the year suffered life changing injuries following a massive accident, bigmoose was there for me again - without hesitation - and helped me being the best I could be during such a traumatic time.
Bigmoose saves lives, and by donating today you can also be a part of that. For every £100 raised, a therapy session is paid for. £400 pays for a full course of therapy, so if i reach my target goal, collectively we could save the lives of five individuals. That’s five families who get to have Christmas together again. Five lives that have the potential to thrive. I can’t stress how unbelievably cool that is.
Thank you SO much in advance, and stick around to see how I get on!
