London to Brighton Cycle Ride 2024 · 15 September 2024 ·

For 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been providing direct support for kidney patients and working hard to improve health and care services across the UK. With no government funding, it is your donations alone that improves life for kidney patients.

Story

Dear Friends,

I’m excited to share that I’m taking on the challenge of cycling from Clapham to Brighton again this year (88k), joined by Amar, Vinayak (his 79 years old dad!! Yes!) and his teenage daughter Aryana. I continue to be inspired by Amar, one of the longest dialysis survivors (30 years now!) whose positive energy and outlook on life are truly remarkable!

This Sunday, September 15th, a brave group of us—many cycling for the first time—will ride from Clapham to Brighton to raise funds for this incredible charity.

My goal is to raise awareness about the impact that dialysis has on the families of patients. I want to take this opportunity to celebrate the positive effects that family support and community can have on patients, caregivers, past and future generations!

Another great example of this is the vital role of parents, carers, family and cheerleaders that have played in the current Paralympics. Thank you, BUPA who have supported my training miles, for this cycle and have contributed separately by sponsoring the Paralympics #HStorchrelay

If you would like to read about my personal story and my dear father who was also was dialysis patient. Please see below my link from last year:

We will be incredibly grateful for any donations you can offer, as they will really have influence on patients and their families ensuring no one faces kidney disease alone.

Lots of love

Maya

We need your help to ensure that Kidney Care can continue to provide vital support, and guidance to young adults and teenagers coping with kidney failure and life on dialysis, something Amar desperately wishes he had all those years ago

Please help us raise £50,000 to support Kidney Care's Young Adult Kidney Group programme. The funds will be used to provide support, mentorship, and counselling for 60 young dialysis and kidney patients.

Your support, large or small, will be hugely appreciated and will help make a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who supported us last year. It was a fantastic ride, and all of us made it to the finish line. (Highlights below.)
