Story
In June 2020 my 6 year old nephew, L, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and was treated for 3.5 years at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Going through years of chemotherapy treatments, lumbar punctures and constant podding and poking is no easy feat... all while COVID was already turning the world upside down. However, GOSH provided top class treatment and holistic support and we're so lucky to have this hospital in our city.
L rang the end of treatment bell in 2023 and has gone on to live a normal life. He starts secondary school in a few weeks! His bravery, resilience and kooky humour is truly inspiring to those around him.
In April 2026, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for GOSH. After a few failed attempts at Couch to 5K, I thought I'd give this running lark a go. My appointed running coach (and boyfriend) John will be running with me. Plus this American boy can get a free tour of the City of London!
I will be running with my brave nephew in mind but also with love for the little boys and girls who weren't so lucky. This is really close to my heart and thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
