Story

I am hosting a ball in support of a charity that raises awareness of rare strains of dementia which affect a multitude of people, and their carers. In my own family’s case, my dad has been diagnosed with a rare early-onset dementia called PCA, which affects less than 5% of overall dementia cases, and this charity has offered support through connecting my family with other carers, as well as connecting my dad with people experiencing similar issues . Not only do they specialise in connecting people with rare dementias who often feel isolated due to the unusual nature of their symptoms, they also help families understand how to support their loved ones and raise awareness of the disease to speed up the currently long and scary process of diagnosis. This is work that my dad claims "saved his life" and I'm sure others can testify the same.

If you are not able to attend I would love if you could still donate.
