The Nelson Community Masjid is an award-winning mosque renowned for its significant contributions to the Pendle community. It provides support to individuals regardless of their background, faith, or ethnicity in Pendle, an area known for its socio-economic challenges and high levels of poverty.

The mosque received the Pride of Nelson Award in both 2021 and 2023, and in 2022, it was honoured with the Best Outreach Service Award at the British Beacon Mosque Awards. They have the following projects running at the moment:

• NCM Foodbank: This provides emergency food parcels to those in need. Thousands of parcels have been given out to date.

• The Ansaar project: NCM offer a comprehensive service to asylum seekers and refugees.

• Zakat fund: NCM has given over £50,000 of zakat money locally to vulnerable Muslim families

• Senior club: NCM has launched a club for the over 60’s whereby they are provided with a space for them to socialise, pray, eat and do yoga together at the masjid.

• Mental health support: NCM offers regular healing sessions to those who need them.

• Family Wellbeing Programme: NCM offers a holistic approach to improving the wellbeing of families.

To help support NCM delivery their projects to the Pendle community Team NCM are undertaking a 2-day, 230 mile ride from NCM (Nelson) to Shahjahan Masjid (Woking, Surry) The ride will be conducted in 2 legs as follows:
