Story

I am fundraising in aid of The National Brain Appeal's Rare Dementia Support Fund. Please support me by making a donation!

If it wasn’t for RDS I wouldn’t be on the drugs trial I am on now. RDS has supported me through a lot since I discovered that I carry the PSEN1 gene mutation that causes early onset Alzheimer’s. I owe them so much, all the staff there are amazing people who really care about what they’re doing and helping people like me. They have connected me with other people in similar situations providing specialist support groups which are so incredibly useful both for my own way of coping and allowing me to help others who may be newer to their situation.

They are now also helping my brother, who has been diagnosed with Familial Alzheimer’s aged 37.

I completed the first of ten half marathons I intend to run in 2026, one per month for the rest of the year. I’m not going for specific times, some may be fast, some may end up being walks if I pick up injury but I’m determined to complete this challenge for this amazing charity because they absolutely deserve the support.

I’m not going to set a target, donate what you are able to and if not just a like or a share will help.

Thank you

Pete
