🆘 Help Fund Surrey SAR’s New ICU Vehicle
The Surrey SAR 2025 Intake team is urgently stepping up to face the Surrey SAR Stretcher Challenge on Saturday 4 July 2026.
Our team of volunteers will carry a stretcher up and down Guildford High Street from 10:00 to 14:00, striving to climb the equivalent height of Box Hill, one of Surrey’s most iconic landmarks. The mission? To raise vital funds towards the critical replacement of Surrey Search & Rescue’s Incident Command Unit (ICU) vehicle.
Surrey Search & Rescue is a volunteer-led emergency response charity that works tirelessly alongside the Police and other statutory services to find vulnerable adults and children who go missing. Available 24/7, every day of the year, these volunteers brave all weather conditions and terrains, often in darkness, to bring hope when it is needed most. In 2025 alone, more than 2000 people went missing in surrey and we responded to 54 urgent callouts for the most high risk people.
The ICU vehicle is the heart of every search operation, serving as a mobile command center for planning, mapping, communications, briefings, welfare support, and coordination on scene. Without this vital resource in top condition, the effectiveness and safety of search operations are reduced.
This challenge is more than just a physical test; it is a call to action. The team needs your support now more than ever. Your donation will directly fund this essential vehicle upgrade that keeps our volunteers equipped and ready to save lives.
Please join us in making a difference. Every pound you give brings Surrey Search & Rescue closer to being fully prepared for the next emergency. Stand with us on Saturday 4 July 2026.
Together we can ensure hope begins in darkness.
