My London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 Challenge

I’ve taken on the incredible challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 to raise £1,000 for the Sailors’ Children’s Society.

Behind every statistic is a real child. Children like those whose parents go to sea to provide for their families, but who are left vulnerable when tragedy strikes. Some have lost a parent, others are living in poverty after a family breakdown or illness. Many face going without the basics most of us take for granted – warm winter coats, school uniforms, or even a proper meal at Christmas.

Sailors’ Children’s Society steps in to make sure these children are not left behind. They provide monthly support for food and bills, grants for school uniforms, Christmas gifts, and even opportunities like tutoring or after-school activities to help children grow in confidence.

This wasn’t an easy “yes” for me. At 53, after spending the last few years navigating the menopause road and feeling a little stuck in “no man’s land,” Ive decided it’s time to do something that will push me, focus me, and remind me of what I’m capable of.

For me, this isn’t just about running 13.1 miles. It’s about:

Taking on an enormous challenge that once felt out of reach.

Focusing on myself my health, my strength, and my determination.

Making my family proud while doing something that makes a real difference for this amazing charity.
