Story

Run the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Sailors’ Children’s Society

Sunday 12 April 2026

Join us for one of the UK’s most iconic races and make every mile count for children of seafaring families in crisis.

Why We Run

For over 200 years, Sailors’ Children’s Society has been there for children who have lost a parent at sea, are living in poverty, or are facing the trauma of illness and family breakdown.

Today, the need is greater than ever. Last year alone we supported over 480 children from 250 families, providing:

£376,000 in grants for school uniforms, food, gas, and electricity

£103,000 in special grants for essentials like beds, after-school lessons, and school trips

£27,000 in Christmas support so every child had a gift and a meal

“This has been a very difficult time for me and my children, and having support from Sailors’ Children’s Society was a big help at a devastating time when it was difficult to get through each day.”

– Jodie, mum of three, supported by the Society

Your Impact

By running 13.1 miles through the heart of London, you’ll be helping children like Jodie’s boys – giving them stability, warmth, and the chance to thrive.

£65 buys a child winter clothing

£150–£200 provides a full school uniform

£75 gives a family a Christmas meal

Every step you take is a step towards a brighter future for a child in crisis.
