This May, I’m taking on the Every Day in May For Dravet challenge alongside my mum. Together, we’ll be covering either 5km or 2km every single day throughout the month — a total of 155km/62km!

But this isn’t just a fitness challenge. I’m doing it for our little boy, Nyle.

Nyle is 2 years old and lives with Dravet Syndrome — a rare and severe form of epilepsy that has completely changed our lives. Every day comes with the constant risk of seizures, and even the simplest things many take for granted require careful thought, planning, and vigilance.

There’s no switching off. Whether it’s leaving the house, managing his temperature, or even letting him sleep, everything we do is shaped around keeping Nyle safe. It can be exhausting and overwhelming, but he is the strongest little boy, and he keeps us going.

That’s why we’re raising money for Dravet Syndrome UK — an incredible charity that provides support to families like ours and funds vital research into better treatments and, one day, a cure.

There is hope. Advances in research, including new treatments and gene therapy, are giving families like ours real reason to believe in a brighter future. But more funding is needed to make that hope a reality.

Our goal is to raise £300, and we’ll need all the support and encouragement we can get to get through this challenge. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference — not just to us, but to so many families facing the same daily battles.
