Story
This May, I’m taking on the Every Day in May For Dravet challenge alongside my mum. Together, we’ll be covering 2km every single day throughout the month — a total of 62km!
But this isn’t just a fitness challenge. I’m doing it for our little boy, Nyle.
Nyle is 2 years old and lives with Dravet Syndrome — a rare and severe form of epilepsy that has completely changed our lives.
Our days are shaped around his condition. From daily medication and carrying emergency meds wherever we go, to constantly managing potential seizure triggers like temperature, illness, or even excitement — everything takes careful thought and planning. His seizures are unpredictable, and that uncertainty is something we live with every single day.
We can never leave him alone, not even for a second. There’s a constant need to watch, to be ready, to act quickly. It’s exhausting and overwhelming at times, but it’s our reality — and we would do anything to keep him safe.
Despite everything, Nyle is incredibly strong, and he inspires us every day.
That’s why we’re raising money for Dravet Syndrome UK — an incredible charity that provides support to families like ours and funds vital research into better treatments and, one day, a cure.
There is hope. Advances in research, including new treatments and gene therapy, are giving families like ours real reason to believe in a brighter future. But more funding is needed to make that hope a reality.
Our goal is to raise £300, and we’ll need all the support and encouragement we can get to get through this challenge. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference — not just to us, but to so many families facing the same daily battles.
If you can, please donate and help spur us on through every kilometre this May.
Thank you so much for your support 💜
