Story
On Saturday 27th June, me, Sarah (Bot), Nikki and Penny will be walking 8k through Lichfield to raise vital funds for St Giles Hospice.
Last year I was mostly confined to a wheelchair when out of the house as I was in extreme pain when walking. This pain became so unbearable that during December last year I was admitted to St Giles Hospice in Whittington for 3 weeks. The care and support I received there was incredible. The staff there are truly amazing, my whole experience there was such a positive one. Mark and the boys were able to come and visit whenever they wanted to, the staff made accommodations for friends and family to come at any hour to visit, and even allowed us to throw a mini birthday party complete with prosecco 🥂
There will come a time when I will be readmitted to the Hospice, but for now I am responding well to my current treatments and concentrating on making memories and living my life. St Giles are still there for me in the background though, to offer help, guidance and support, not just to me, but to my friends and family too if they need it. The services they provide are truly invaluable.
If you are able to donate - even a little - to our fundraiser we will really appreciate it, but if you can't, just sharing this post will help so much ❤️
