Story
Being diagnosed with cancer 4 times the latest Dec 2022, undergoing chemotherapy, heart failure and living with cancer for 6 years has tested me emotionally and pushed me to my mental and physical limit.
I am lucky as I have had support from, my family and friends and the family of the ‘Royal Marines’ through it all.

After the 2 cancer I started cold water swimming and immediately noticed the positive benefits for both my mental and physical well being.

Wanting to give something back and help organisations who have been there for me and for others like me, I am doing a charity challenge called ‘Cold Dip Commando’, 60-4-60.
This year on 18th September I celebrate my 60th birthday. To make it a bit special I am doing the Cold Dip Commando 60-4-60 Challenge which will start on 20th July, 60 days before my birthday. The challenge will finish on my 60th Birthday.
Rather than just doing cold dips for 60 days there will be other activities that I hope people will join me on and help to raise money for good causes. Some challenges will be doing 60 specific things in a day others will be doing something at least once a day for 60 days, such as a random act of kindness every day for 60 days or calling a different old friend to say hi, every day for 60 days or an activity involving 60 people such as beach yoga or 60 press-ups in 60 minutes.
The charities will be the Royal Marines Chastity and Young Lives vs Cancer. Do the 4 simple challenges every day and make a difference to your life and many more.
The 4 parts of the 60-4-60 are:
1. 60 Cold Water Dips or Showers
2. 1 press-up on day 1, 2 press-ups on day 2, 3 press-ups on day 3, 4 press-ups on day 4 and so up to 60 press-ups on day 60 its only 1,830 in total.
3. Reconnect with and check up on an old friend
4. Do an unselfish good deed or act of kindness
