Story
This October I'm going to attempt to clock up 150 miles of running and raise money for two charities - Mind (UK wide mental health charity) and the Henfield Haven, a village centre providing support to many in my local community.
The challenge is the equivalent of running 5 miles per day but I know I'm not dedicated enough to run every single day so I know I will need to put in some big days to get the total ticking over. To help with that, I've signed up to run the 2020 Virgin London Marathon which has been moved to October (usually in April) and gone virtual.
My Virtual London Marathon race is going to take in as much of that local community as I can and I'm determined to follow this for much of the rest of my 150 miles as the month progresses.
I appreciate that the current climate is tough for many of us. It is also the reason why our friends at the Haven and at Mind need our support as their jobs have not stopped just because of the virus and an economic downturn, they've just got a lot harder. Please donate to one or both charities and if you are around Henfield on Sunday October 4th, come to the High St end of Henfield Common, help yourself to a healthy or unhealthy treat off my marathon aid station and consider dropping a few pennies in my collection pot. Money raised on the day will be doubled by a new local business, Bigg Change, who are launching in November to support our community in being a fitter, healthier and happier community.
Many thanks for your support and time and I hope to see some of you on Sunday 4th!
