Hughseys Team Fundraising for The Fire Fighters Charity

Raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity
In memory of Iain Hughes (Hughesy)

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist lifelong health & wellbeing support for the UK fire & rescue community, empowering individuals and families to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives. This includes serving and retired firefighters, control and support teams.

Story

In 2023 Iain Hughes, a much respected and loved member of West Midlands Fire Service's Technical Rescue Unit, tragically lost his life whilst attempting to swim the English Channel to raise money for a number of charities, including the Firefighters Charity.

Over 2025, friends and former colleagues of Iain will be holding a number of challenges and events to raise money for the Firefighters Charity in his memory. All the money raise will collectively go funding a project at one of the charities 3 rehabilitation centres. These are used to help serving and retired firefighters, and their families, recover for injuries and illnesses, whether they be physical or mental. The project will be dedicated to Iain's memory.

Details of events and updates will be posted on this page so please call back in and see how we're getting on.
