Story

Hello,

On the 1st January, 4 of us, Myself, Sharon, Sarah and Carol will be taking part in a New Years Day swim located in Saundersfoot Wales.

The reason behind the charity choice:

Our Family friend Steve was diagnosed aged 50 with a rare genetic disease that causes muscle wastage throughout the body.

This has resulted in him having type one respiratory failure requiring non invasive ventilation at night. As the years pass his respiratory function decreases.

WORLD raise funds to support people with pieces of equipment not available on the NHS. At present he is using a device loaned to him from WORLD that helps him exercise his lungs to try to reduce the speed of the deterioration.
