Story
Many of us have been fortunate enough during this period to have some sense of normality; to continue working and stay connected to our colleagues and loved ones, to have a roof over our heads and food on the table.
In collaboration with Thrive@Ofcom, the colleague networks are launching a #Challenge4Charity event encouraging colleagues to do good to feel good by supporting charities providing crucial services during the Coronavirus pandemic.
How will the challenge work?
You can take part in the #Challenge4Charity by setting yourself a challenge, completing the challenge, donating £5 via this JustGiving page to one of our chosen charities (and encouraging your friends and family to do the same), and posting a note about your completed challenge in the thrive at home Yammer page using the hashtag #Challenge4Charity to share your achievement.
We’ve given you some inspiration below to get you going, and even some ideas on how to get your family involved:.
Challenge yourself with: a project around the house e.g. cleaning, repairing or gardening; a physical (socially-distant) challenge such as a run, walk or cycle ; a creative project such as baking, art, sewing, writing or reading something out of your comfort zone .
Challenge your family with: preparing an indoor picnic, perhaps with the help of some small sous-chefs; organising a letter-writing session for your kids to keep in touch with their friends ; dressing up at home for a costume contest with a particular theme .
And remember, if you don't want to take part in a challenge you can still donate to a great cause!
What will my donation go towards?
You can choose which of our four chosen charities to give to – we’ve explained on each charity page what each cause it appealing for funds for, particularly during the Coronavirus pandemic.
