Story
This Purple Day, my boyfriend has joined me in running 26 miles in 26 days in support of Epilepsy.
When I was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy at 16, it changed how I experience my body. Epilepsy can make a person feel out of control and fearful of the body that’s supposed to protect you. It’s unpredictable, exhausting and often invisible to everybody else.
When Toby and I first met, he knew very little about the condition. But he chose to learn. He researched, asked questions, acted fast and looked at charities, like Young Epilepsy, that work tirelessly to help families living with this condition.
I am forever grateful and admirable of the readiness he has to take on my struggles with the condition.
Together, we are motivated to raise enough awareness and funds to support at least one child with Epilepsy - and we’re not stopping there!
