Story
Cancer is everywhere and it's when we least expect it!
This time last year, our Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer - ‘common’ ‘treatable’ and ‘you’ll 'be fine'.
Approaching the lumpectomy, Macmillan provided reliable information sources to understand everything that was happening.
Six months later, Macmillan’s role grew hugely when our mum had a curve ball, her cancer had developed and was now a terminal stage 4 diagnosis.
Macmillan provides therapy sessions, group support and holistic care. Especially to Mum, but also for our family.
While researching services Macmillan provides, we learnt of a section called life beyond cancer. Although it was often referring to those in remission, it felt very fitting for what Macmillan had done for us, showing us what life can be like beyond the diagnosis.
Recently, our mum has done a course of sea swimming with mcmillan, showing the fun doesn't have to slow down either! Along the way, we have also met some wonderful people supported by Macmillan. Supported with wigs, make up lessons to help deal with hair loss, and financial support due to their circumstance changes.
Fundraiser like this allows Macmillan to prove to us that life will still be fine... just in a different way!
So thank you for your support💚🩷
