Raising money for British Heart Foundation

London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

We were lucky enough to have ballot places and wanted to raise some money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of loved ones who we have lost or have suffered with heart disease so if you could spare a couple of quid we would be grateful.

Often there is no warning of a problem just the complete shock of a phone call out of the blue and if by raising some money we can prevent more families from going through the same we will be happy.

Tina’s story

We lost my wonderful mum, Margaret who lived with cerebral palsy and the late effects of polio unexpectedly on the 02/12/19. Mum never let her disability hold her back and was known for her cheeky sense of humour!

My brother-in-law George went out for a run on 18/10/22. At 66 George was fit and healthy but collapsed leaving his wife Sharon and 7 younger siblings, family and friends devastated. It seems fitting to run this one in their memory.

Judith’s story

Judith’s parents have both suffered with heart disease so this one is in memory of Judith’s late father Maurice.
