Archie's 100 Golf Holes in a Day

Team photo

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

The challenge

I am 10 years old, I love golf, and on Tuesday, May 30, I will attempt to play 100 holes in a single day. I will play six full rounds, starting at 5.30am with two rounds at Cavendish Golf Club in Buxton, followed by two rounds at New Mills Golf Club before finishing with two rounds at Mellor and Townscliffe Golf Club.

I will be playing off men’s yellow tees to complete the 108-hole, 33,262 yard challenge, which will take me over 12 hours to complete. I will cover a distance of nearly 20 miles (if I keep hitting the ball straight) with a buggy to help share the strain.

The charities

I am hoping to raise money for four charities that I think are really important to younger people, especially for those who love sport. The first is CRY, in memory of Charlie Craig, an amazing cyclist and under-16 champion who went to my primary school and is hugely missed in our local community. The second is Young Minds, in memory of another local youngster who is massively missed, Ben Stollery - a fantastic sportsman and super-talented number 8 rugby player, and a good friend and teammate of my older brother. The third is the Golf Foundation, which works to give all children, from every background, the chance to play golf. I am also supporting the great work of the Finlay Cooper Fund following the success of the Graeme Storm Junior Open in April.

I will be keeping a track of the combined scores and updates will be provided through the day on my Twitter feed @ArchieQualt.
