Georgia's Teenage Cancer Appeal is supporting Clic Sargent by funding a part time member of their social care team to cover the South Essex areas.
In doing this Clic Sargent will now be able to offer all children and young people and their families in the south Essex area a Social Worker service, including home visits during cancer treatment and if appropriate, during palliative care and following bereavement. Up until now the team have not had the resources to be able to offer the out reach service (home visits) in our area. This was keenly felt during the last week of Georgia's life when she was cared for at home by her family alone.
We have pledged to raise £25,700 a year for 3 years to fund the part time social care role.
