Parkinson's Disease is a degenerative and progressive neurological condition which causes a decrease in cognative function. In other words, those who suffer develop symptoms such as shaking, rigidity, difficulty walking and commonly, in advanced stages of the disease, dementia.
Parkinson's UK is a charity very close to my heart, as my father was recently diagnosed with PD, ultimately resulting in the loss of his ability to work. Parkinson's UK do a lot of work for people like my dad, ensuring nobody has to face the horrible disease alone, along with leading the way in researchfor cures and treatments. But they need our support too.
The employees of CMS Distribution have come togther to show their support for people like my father and will be pushing themselves to both physical and mental exstremes by participating in the Tough Mudder Challenge, to raise money for Parkinson's UK. The tough mudder challenge is a gruelling 10-12 mile endurance obstacle course, which tests both physical and mental strength. This is a challenge that emphasises teamwork, camaraderie, and accomplishing something tough.
