Story
Amazing Graze registered charity (1167233) has supported Blackpools homeless and vulnerable community for over 10 years. The emergency night bus is a much needed resource in our area.
The Big Red Emergency Night Bus will be the only mobile shelter in Lancashire supporting people from homelessness & vulnerable people from relationship breakdowns, domestic violence, fire damaged property, hospital discharge & many other reasons someone may require an emergency bed for the night.
The bus will also be accessible to all emergency services to use in urgent situations for any of the general public free of charge.
At present Blackpool does NOT have any emergency accommodation available for people to access in emergency situations, we do not have a shelter like other towns and cities. When people are homeless there is genuinely no options available.
The Night bus will be renovated into 10 sleeping pods with a bathroom, lounge and cooking area. Operating over the weekend and dependant on the demand throughout the week in busier periods.
We will have two collection points in Blackpool and then the night bus will be stationary for people onboard to get some much needed respite.
We will then support anyone onboard and seek assistance in supporting finding more permanent accommodation through private landlords, supported housing, council and any other options available including rehab and detox programmes.
Please support the "Big Red Emergency Night Bus" & support these fantastic runners helping us take the bus over the finish line.
The 21 runners will be covering Skegness to Blackpool coast to coast 166 miles in 24 hours over three days. A long run for each person with an average of 8.3 miles per runner.
