Story

Run, walk, dance, prance, jog or jingle your own 5km route to raise funds for Blythe House Hospicecare!

Whilst the Jingle Bell Jog cannot take place in it's usual format this year, we can still get in the festive spirit and raise money for local hospice care! Take on your own 5km route with members of your household, and see how many other santa's you can spot from a distance along the way.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the services provided by Blythe House Hospicecare have been needed by our community more than ever. Our Hospice at Home team have continued to ensure that those who wish to remain at home with their families in their last months of life have been able to receive care at home. This has meant that they have avoided hospital admission, and have been able to stay at home where they feel most comfortable and safe.

Income to Blythe House Hospicecare has been impacted hugely by the Covid-19 outbreak, as most of our usual fundraising events have been unable to take place. By taking part in the Jingle Bell Jog Reimagined, and raising sponsorhip for your efforts, you are making sure that we are able to continue providing vital care to those in our community that need it.

The registration fee covers the cost of running the event, therefore we do ask each Santa to try to raise as much sponsorship as they can.

£50 would pay for three hours Hospice at Home care for someone in their last weeks of life.

£100 would pay for half a days physiotherapy for a patient struggling with mobility as a result of their illness.

£150 would pay for 5 counselling sessions for a bereaved child at one of the hardest times of their life.

£450 would pay for three nights of care for a patient at the end of their life who wants to remain in their own home
