Story

Throughout the pandemic our team have worked tirelessly to support local families living with terminal illnesses and bereavement.

Hospice Care never stops, 365 days a year, come rain or shine, amid periods of calm and during challenging times, our dedicated and professional team continue to offer our communities compassionate and highly skilled end of life care.

Our services are provided free of charge and we rely on the support of our community, to continue providing this special care.

Every step you take and every pound you raise in sponsorship will help local families living with terminal illness and bereavement.

The Challenge

Challenge yourself and climb for Hospice Care. This is your chance to take on the iconic 25-mile route in the stunning Yorkshire Dales, including summiting the trio of peaks - Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-Y-Ghent. Complete the 1500m of ascent and descent with the aim of finishing within 12 hours.

The funds you raise and the inspiration you create whilst having a fantastic experience will support our In patient and home care teams on their epic challenge every day during this pandemic to provide care to people in our communities.

You will be helping them to care for around 100 people each week in our hospice and via our home service which supports families in the comfort of their own homes. Throughout the pandemic our Home service has seen around a 30% increase in the number of people wishing and needing to receive care, comfort and support in their own homes.

You will also be supporting local families through our Just B bereavement support services which are available to both adults and children, pre-and post-bereavement. Our trained staff and volunteers are supporting more than 60 children, young people and adults each week. This is during a time when restrictions make saying goodbye even more difficult.

Challenge yourself and join with us as we all face this challenge together!
