We believe that all pets should have access to veterinary care – regardless of their owners’ financial situation. Over 100 years, we’ve helped more than 20 million sick and injured pets – providing life-saving vet care to more vulnerable pets than any other animal charity in the UK today.

Story

This September we are urging dog owners and their four-legged friends to put their best paw forward and support our vital service by signing up to the World Big Dog Walk Challenge.

Joining celebrities such as Clare Balding and Michaela Strachan, as well as animal lovers across the UK, all you need to do is choose a suitable distance for you and your dog to complete during September. This could be your regular walkies route around your local park or why not stretch yourself and take on a more challenging distance? Whatever the distance, every small step will make a big difference to the lives of poorly pets in desperate need of life-saving treatment.

PDSA is the UKs leading veterinary charity and without support like yours we would not be here to help pets in need when there is nowhere else to turn to when hard times strike. We believe no pet should suffer.

PDSA's veterinary care which is a lifeline to so many owners across the UK costs £60 million a year to run. But with many of our shops still closed and fundraising events cancelled, we are losing around £3 million a month in income.

With the country plunged into financial uncertainly, and more than a million extra Universal Credit claims, we expect the number of pets needing care will increase by around 50,000.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic we are facing into a national crisis so were urging dog owners from across the UK to help us raise vital funds and take part in the World Big Dog Walk for PDSA.

All you need to do is choose a distance that is suitable for you and your dog to complete during the month of September. This can be your regular walk round your local park or you can stretch yourself that little bit further and take on a more challenging distance. Whatever distance you choose, your walk will help poorly pets in need of life-saving treatments.

If you have signed up to take part in the event, you can click on the Start Fundraising button on this page to set up your own JustGiving page and raise funds for the PDSA. If fundraising is not for you, you can make a donation directly to this page by clicking on the Donate button.

Your help will enable us to save the lives of adored four-legged family members during this crisis, who in many cases might be the only companion in a persons life.

Thank you for choosing to support PDSA in the World Dog Walk challenge.

Best Wishes
