Story
Bryn Siriol is a respite service. It’s a 3-bedroom bungalow for 18-70 year olds. The service currently supports 25 regular individuals, each of whom are allowed up to 8 weeks a year at the service. While in use those staying get to enjoy a range of activities, designed to feel like a holiday for them.
Funding is needed to replace the the current sensory room at Bryn Siriol which is now unusable.
Some brave supporters will be skydiving to help raise money for this cause! Please donate to help us reach our goal!
The proposed new facility will offer sensory support and will be dedicated to Jan Kench a well know and much loved local Mencap campaigner, who sadly passed away earlier this year. The aim is to have the sensory room ready for Mencap Cymru’s 80th anniversary in January 2026.
Dylan Kench, son of Jan Kench: “My Mother has been at the heart of people with a learning disability and their families in Ceredigion since my sister Bethan was born. It will be a powerful testament to her many years of campaigning in Ceredigion.”
