We are the only UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease. We fund essential research and provide much needed support, information and advice. We raise awareness and challenge the misconceptions of lung cancer. We do all this so those affected can expect better.

Story

Swimming the Distance is a virtual swimming challenge supporting Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting everyone affected by lung cancer.

This June, participants will collectively swim the equivalent of the UK coastline, one mile at a time. Whether you swim in a local pool, the sea, open water, or a leisure centre, you can choose your own distance and complete it at your pace across the challenge period.

Swimming takes commitment. Early mornings, booked sessions, fitting it around work and family life. By choosing to dedicate your swims to this challenge, you’re turning that commitment into something powerful.

By taking part and fundraising, you’ll be helping ensure people affected by lung cancer are supported from diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond. Funds raised help provide trusted information, nurse-led support, and opportunities for people to feel less alone during an incredibly difficult time.

Every length you swim represents strength, determination, and hope. Thank you for being part of Swimming the Distance.
