The Old Royal Naval College and Hospital was established by royalty to veterans mostly invalided out of the Navy after sustaining debilitating injuries. All the men admitted to the Hospital had fallen on hard times and the majority came from poor backgrounds without the means to save for their old age.

Today, Alabarés work with homeless and vulnerable veterans echoes that of The Old Royal Naval College and a shared desire to see homeless ex-Armed Forces personnel supported in their lives outside of the military. Alabaré welcomes veterans from all over the UK and provides supported accommodation, along with a bespoke package of training, education and skills, so a veteran can move forward with their lives. Alabaré is the largest provider of dedicated Homes for Veterans outside of London. All the funds needed for this programme must be raised through fundraising.

So on Friday 24th March, we are taking a stand against homelessness by bedding down for one night at this unique venue, in a single act of compassion to help save lives. The event promises to be a powerful, reflective and yet humbling experience as we bed down like those who are homeless. For us it will just one night, and in the morning we can return to our warm homes and comfortable beds.
