WWF Isle of Wight Challenge 2025 · 8 April 2025 to 10 April 2025 ·
Our world needs us like never before. This challenge will be raising funds for the important work carried out globally by WWF, to help bring our world back to life.
The challenge will involve sea kayaking, trekking 26 miles and taking part in conservation work with WWF's partner Project Seagrass, directly tackling climate change.
Dr Richard Unsworth, Associate Professor in Marine Ecology and co-founder of Project Seagrass, says: “There is real hope: protection and restoration of habitats like seagrass meadows can be a key part of the solution in tackling climate change… to rebuild marine life at the scale and the speed required to fight the biodiversity crisis and the climate emergency, we need to think bigger, whereby we bring degraded habitats back to life at the same time as creating vast new habitat in support of coastal livelihoods and community resilience.”
