Team Mera Peak Orpington - fundraising for Akshaya Patra UK

Raising money for Akshaya Patra UK

Shrijna, a talented Year 8 Kabaddi player, and her brother Naveen rely on school meals from Akshaya Patra. For many children in Uttarakhand, school meals mean nourishment and education. Just £15 feeds a child for a year—help us support 163 kids!

Story

We, a group of seven trekkers from Orpington (London), are preparing to take on the incredible challenge of summiting Mera Peak in Nepal (6,476m/21,247 ft) from 3–21 April 2025. This trek will test our endurance, resilience, and determination — qualities that mirror the daily challenges faced by millions of children in India who strive for an education despite hunger and hardship.

We’re using this journey as an opportunity to give back. We’re raising funds to support The Akshaya Patra Foundation and its incredible mission of eliminating classroom hunger through its mid-day meal programme. For these children, just as every step on our trek will push us toward our summit, every nutritious meal brings them one step closer to their dreams.

Please support our cause and help us make a real difference in the lives of these children. Your donation will fuel not just our journey, but theirs too.
