Update 30.08.21
We have now plodded our way across 4531 miles and have only 1515 to reach Cox's Bazar. We hope to complete by the end of October.
There are 420 million children growing up in conflict zones right now and we are determined to do what we can to prevent their entire lives being affected by these experiences.
Save the Children exists to help every child reach their full potential. In the UK and around the world, we make sure children stay safe, healthy and keep learning, so they can become who they want to be. Our team is taking on the longest of four sponsored walks, 6046 miles, a virtual trek to Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh.
When the Covid-19 crisis hit, Save the Children went into action immediately, carrying out life-saving work across the globe. But due to the pandemic the charity also faces challenges with its revenue expected to fall by millions of pounds this year due to volunteers being unable to raise money.
“That is why, the South East Community team , decided to see what more we could do and as we are all enjoying walking now, why not join the Walk the World challenge for Save the Children. Supporters from octogenarians to school children will be out walking in all weathers often on difficult terrain, so watch out for us and donate what you can
