Story
In January, Abby, Clare and Tom are taking on the Winter Spine MRT Challenge North to complete the Pennine Way following our completion of the Winter Spine MRT Challenge South in 2023 /2024.
This is a 160 non-stop challenge between Hawes and Kirk Yetholm along the Pennine Way with a time limit of 108 hours.
We have decided to split our fundraising between Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue, The Good Shepherd Centre based in Keighley, Sue Ryder and Hero Paws.
We are all team members of UWFRA and this cause is close to our heart committing a lot of our time to assist people and animals on the hill. The Good Shepherd Centre is a charitable organisation that aims to empower, engage and educate economically and socially disadvantaged people in Keighley and surrounding areas in order that they may be better able to participate fully in society. Sue Ryder is a Yorkshire based charity who provide invaluable support to those with life limiting illnesses and Hero Paws is a fantastic charity that supports people who have been brave enough to rehome a retired military working dog that couldn’t, or would struggle to live in a normal home environment.
This is a significantly bigger challenge than any of us have taken on before so we hope you will follow us on our training in the build up to this event in January.
Thank you for your support and to choose the charity you wish to donate to, you need to select one of the charity links shown below.
