Story

Started in 2016 as a way for young people with kidney disease to come together, the Young Adult Kidney Group (YAKG) has grown into a safe place for young patients to support one another online.

The YAKG is as a closed Facebook peer support group for kidney patients between 18 and 30.

Since its inception, our group has grown into an amazing and diverse community of over 800 young kidney patients worldwide and we have been a part of Kidney Care UK since April 2022. However, we are still entirely patient-led, as this is what makes the group so unique, and so successful!

Kidney Care UK have set up this dedicated campaign for anybody wanting to support the YAKG and residential weekend https://www.kidneycareuk.org/get-support/young-adult-kidney-group-yakg/

The funds raised through this campaign will be used to directly support the YAKG’s activities, however if more funds are raised than needed in any given period, donations will be used for Kidney Care UK’s wider work to ensure that no-one faces kidney disease alone. Please note that contributing is entirely optional and there is no pressure or obligation to do so.
