Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Following a chaotic week of end of term exams, a group of Lower Sixth artists teamed up to create an artistic showcase based upon their works in aid of the Tall Ship Expedition. The exhibition, orchestrated by myself, put my works on show alongside the works of Yuhki Koshiba, Edward Hunter, Matthys Du Toit, and Anthony Cho.
Harrow School’s collaboration with the Tall Ships Youth Trust brings together boys studying at Harrow School and a group of local young offenders for a unique experience of life on board three Challenger yachts every summer. In order for the expedition to happen, Harrow boys fund raise throughout the year to enable this group to go on a challenging trip around the Channel Islands.
The exhibition itself was run on the 28th and 29th of June in what used to be a small and to some extent a neglected room. In our attempts to restore this abandoned room, we sacrificed all of our afternoons and evenings to decorating the room, until eventually, we transformed the unoccupied room into an action packed exhibition. To say that it was a feast for the eye would not be an exaggeration; artworks were everywhere in the hopes of satisfying a guest's appetite for our art. On the nights of the exhibitions, the room was full of visitors from both the school and elsewhere, and everyone was treated with drinks and snacks, gracefully served by Ben Cooper, Ed Lewis and Max Melser.
No worries if you were unlucky enough to miss this unforgettable event, for we were able to capture both nights on a camcorder in an attempt to best replicate the amazing atmosphere. Please do check out the video and any donation big or small would be appreciated!
